Anna Rubinsztein and Anna Karlsson are a duo with a particular love for the traditional music from Värmland, a region in the western part of Sweden bordering Norway. They met in 2012 and realized they shared that same passion and have since then been companions on this journey through music and life. Rubinsztein/Karlsson is driven by an urge to make people dance! And to be with the dancers or audiences, in that special emotion that has no name, but is both euphoria and melancholy at the same time.
The duo’s music consists mostly of dance tunes, polskas being the main part of their repertoire and they have been learning, collecting, sharing with each other as well as listeners and dancers ever since they met. As fiddlers they have taken impressions from, and are walking in the footsteps of some of the most prominent figures in the region, as some of their rolemodels, such as Mats Berglund, Mats Edén, Magnus and Sophia Stinnerbom and Fredrik Lundberg.
In 2022 Rubinsztein/Karlsson is releasing new music. Their debut album consists of tunes that have been passed on to them and treasures they’ve found in archives and tunebooks. The result is a 13 track album that holds a very special place in their hearts that they are longing to share.

Anna Karlsson och Anna Rubinsztein är duon med stark förkärlek för låtar från Värmland. De har följts åt sedan 2012 och spelat ihop i många olika format och konstellationer, med sin kärlek till gränstraktens musik som ledstjärna. Efter många år med låtar efter sina förebilder har de under senaste tiden grävt i arkiv och notböcker.
